Says Carmel engineering teacher Erin Major: “As the mother of a young daughter, it is important for me personally to let girls know that there are not ‘men jobs’ and ‘women jobs’. Some of the best mathematical and engineering inventions of the last century have been made by women. What girls are lacking is confidence. If someone feels empowered and educated, they are not likely to be intimidated by bullies of any gender.”
